King's College is a private college situated just down the road from Kingston, in the Wilkes-Barre city limits. This beautiful school of about 2,700 students offers an intimate learning environment for its 30 undergraduate degree programs, 10 special concentrations and seven pre-professional programs in a variety of subjects. Tuition for the 2011-12 academic year was $27,680, not including expenses such as books, supplies and room and board.

Luzerne County Community College, LCCC, is a public, two-year institution located southwest over the river from Kingston by way of US Route 11. LCCC has a 2012 undergraduate student body of 7,225 and provides students a list of 100-plus academic programs to choose from. Tuition cost for district residents was reported at an affordable $3,150. Another public college in the Kingston area is Pennsylvania State University - Wilkes-Barre, where students can begin their path to more than 160 undergraduate majors offered by the Penn State University System at an in-state tuition cost of less than $13,000.
