Students can earn their associate degree or begin their path to a bachelor's degree at the Community College of Beaver County, or CCBC, which provides affordable education to a student body of approximately some 3,000 learners. CCBC offers students 10 academic departments to choose from, including aviation science, business, criminal justice, nursing and fire and rescue training. Yearly resident tuition for Pennsylvania students at two-year public institutions averaged $3,663 in the 2011-12 school year.

The Pennsylvania State University System is represented in Monaca by Penn State Beaver, a satellite campus with nearly 1,000 students. Penn State Beaver gives area students the opportunity to take preliminary courses for nearly all of Penn State's more than 160 academic majors, as well as granting five bachelor's degrees, three associate degrees and one master's on the Monaca campus itself.
